Suicide 30 September 2008
Moving on after a suicide attempt

Every year in the UK between 600 and 800 young people  take their own lives. Huge numbers of young people consider suicide and many thousands of those actually make an attempt. Sarah Parker talks to Rosie and her daughter Ziggy, who attempted suicide recently. Jane explores the issues affecting people whose lives have been touched by suicide with Dr Alice Parshall, Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Director at the West London Mental Healthcare Trust, and Anne Parry, Chair of Papyrus, a charity which campaigns to prevent suicide in young people.

On Sunday 5th October at 10pm, BBC Radio 1’s The Surgery with Kelly Osborne will be looking at the issue of suicide.
