 The first leader of the Green Party.
Caroline Lucas is well known for campaigning on environmental economics, trade justice, alternatives to globalisation, animal welfare and food policy. She is an MEP, and has worked with numerous NGOs and think-tanks, including the RSPCA, Oxfam and CND. She was named in the top 10 of the New Statesman Magazine Person of the Year Award in 2006, and won the award for Politician of the Year 2007 in The Observer Newspaper Ethical Awards.
