Named the Best Vocalist in the BBC Jazz Awards
Music critics have long been celebrating the Irish-born singer Christine Tobin’s “tough-tender tones”, giving her the reputation as “the most adventurous jazz singer of her generation in this country”. Now her original singing and song-writing has won her the Best Vocalist prize at the BBC Jazz Awards. She joins Jenni to talk about her new award, her career to date and to share some songs from her latest album Secret Life of a Girl.
