How small scale agriculture transforms the lives of women in Uganda.
In 2001 Helen Kongai lost her husband, mother and son in the space of a few months. Ugandan inheritance traditions left her with very little property, and she faced a struggle to survive. Now she’s a prosperous farmer and travels all over Uganda instructing women on how livestock can transform their lives and enrich their communities. In a society where women are often treated as second class citizens, Helen’s programme helps to build confidence as well as skills. She joins Jane to tell her how.Send a Cow Present Aid Great Gifts UNICEF gifts Disclaimer
