Playground Bullying 02 Nov 2007
Are we jumping in too soon?

We all know that children can be cruel, and that school playgrounds see playmates fall out and tease each other on a daily basis. But at what point does it become bullying? And when should we, as adults, intervene? Earlier this week the Royal Society of Arts published a paper warning that we need to stop being overprotective and let children take risks, in order to learn, but where do we draw the line? To discuss the issues, Jane is joined by Professor Frank Furedi, author of the book Paranoid Parenting, and Michele Elliot, director of the charity Kidscape.

Paranoid Parenting, by Frank Furedi is published by A Cappella Books, US, ISBN-13: 978-1556524646
