Inequality in the state pension

Earlier this month the government revealed that 750,000 female pensioners currently do not qualify for any state pension in their own right. 130,000 retired women do not receive any basic state pension at all. The new Pensions Act will improve life for retired women in the future but what is being done to cut poverty among today’s female pensioners? Miriam O’Reilly discusses this with  Anna Pearson, policy manager at Help the Aged, and pensions minister Mike O’Brien.
