Campaigning against forced marriages, domestic violence and honour killings

Jasvinder Sanghera is the Founder and Director of Karma Nirvana, a refuge for Asian women in the UK fleeing forced marriages and domestic violence. Her work helping others and raising awareness has just been recognised by the ‘Women of the Year Awards’. She herself ran away from home to escape a forced marriage and has recorded her own plight in her memoir ‘Shame’, published earlier this year.
Jenni talks to Jasvinder Sanghera about how her loneliness and despair grew into a determination to help other women in similar circumstances.
