Parent Abuse 12 Sept 2007
Parents who are victims of violence from their children

Parents are usually the first people blamed for the behaviour of their offspring and those who have been abused by their children often feel a sense of shame, helplessness and fear that prevents them from seeking help for themselves and their abusers.

Jane is joined by forensic psychiatrist, Professor Susan Bailey and by Valerie Outram of Parentline Plus to take a look at the feelings suffered by parents whose children abuse them and to give advice on how those attacks can be prevented in the first place.

'It’s My Story: Teenage Kicks' will be broadcast on Radio 4 on the 13th September at 8pm.
