 Does the full moon affect human behaviour?
June 2007 may be remembered for the torrential rain, floods and mini tornadoes which have wreaked havoc up and down the country, but it also plays host to two full moons. The second occurs tomorrow, and is often known as a blue moon. But how much effect does this extra-lunar activity have on the way we behave? If common folklore is to be believed, come Saturday, the hospitals will be full, the police’s switchboard will be lit up in red, and the whole nation will be cursed with bad luck - and then there are the Werewolves. Are these strange nocturnal happenings just superstitious nonsense, or the stuff of concrete scientific evidence? To discuss the effects of a full moon, Jane is joined by Dr Glenn Wilson, Reader in Personality at King's College Hospital in London, and folklore academic Dr Juliette Wood.
