How do you tell children bad news? 21st May 2007
CBBC Newsround
The story of Madeleine McCann has been dominating the news for over two weeks now and as a result will also be filtering down to the consciousness of the nation's children. This type of news can present a huge problem for parents – what do you tell your children? Do you try and keep them sheltered from the more troubling news stories or do you educate them about the dangers that may exist in the world? And how do the media deal with this when aiming news at children? Tim Levell Editor of CBBC’s Newsround and Child Psychologist Dr Pat Spungin join Ritula to debate the issues and offer useful advice on how to tell your children bad news.
