 Suzanne Rappoport was just 6 years old when she saw her parents for the last time. As Jews, they were being rounded up by the police in war time Paris. Suzanne was saved by a neighbour who burst into the family apartment as the arrests were being made and pretended that Suzanne was her own child. For years Suzanne was hidden by various French families – some did it as a matter of conscience, others for money.
