Following the tragic death of Sally Clark, the solicitor who is said to have “never fully recovered” from the trauma of being wrongly jailed for the death of her two sons, we will be looking at the treatment of the victims of miscarriages of justice. What actually happens from the moment when people are supposedly “free” and what are the practical, emotional and psychological challenges they invariably face once leaving prison?
Angela Cannings, who served 18 months in jail having been wrongly accused of killing her two children, will be talking to Jenni about the lasting ordeal for her and her family. Gareth Pierce, the human rights solicitor renowned for representing the Birmingham Six and the Guildford Four among others, will join them to discuss what needs to happen to allow these victims to begin to put their lives back together again.Miscarriages of Justice OrganisationDisclaimer
