A Parents' Dilemma; Helping a Daughter Leave A Violent Relationship. 15 Mar 2007
Penny Beale’s daughter was murdered by her partner in 2001. Since then Penny’s been trying to raise awareness about domestic violence – she’s even allowed a picture of her daughter taken after she died to be used in an exhibition. But what can a parent, or any family member, do if they suspect a loved one is in an abusive relationship? How do you best help without alienating them? Is it best to intervene or simply offer support? Jenni is joined by Penny Beale and by Sue, who left her violent partner.
