Presents – is it right to tell someone what you want?  11 Feb 2007
A new survey says that 29% of men have already been told by their partner exactly want she wants for Valentine's Day, and a further 39% know what to buy from the heavy hints their loved ones have been dropping.

Is it socially acceptable to tell someone what present you wish to receive?  Is it presumptuous and materialistic or a good way of avoiding getting the same unwanted present year after year?  By specifying the present, are you displaying bad manners or helping someone to avoid spending a lot of time and effort working out what to give?

Jenni Murray will be discussing this with writer and actress Emma Kennedy and comedian Jo Caulfield.
