Review of Murder Law 12 December 2006
Do the proposed changes to the murder law mean we are going soft on women killers? The Law Commission is recommending that women who kill a partner after suffering years of domestic abuse can claim provocation on the grounds of the fear of serious violence.

But it also recommends that the crime be upgraded from manslaughter to second degree murder. Some campaigning groups are outraged.

Jenni is joined by Harriet Wistrich from Justice for Women and Professor Jeremy Horder, author of the Law Commission report.
