Recent research shows that women are still finding it hard to break through the ‘glass ceiling’ to get jobs on the boards of Britain’s biggest companies – the number of female chief executives has actually decreased in 2006. Additional research has found that many women may have an ‘inner inhibitor’ – they decide that success comes at too high a personal price and shun the boardroom as a consequence.
