The Politics of Surnames 8 August 2006
In the US, a new trend of “meshing”, where a marrying woman and man mesh both their surnames into one, is gaining momentum. So what’s in a name and what does a woman’s choice to change or not to change hers really say about her?

Sally Feldman, Dean of Media, Arts and Design at the University of Westminster and Ellie Lee, Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Kent join thJenni to reflect on the issue and the potential practical and moral implications of the path you choose.
