Child Poverty - can it be eliminated by 2020? 21 Jul 2006
With more than three million children living in poverty, the UK still has one of the highest child poverty rates in the EU. Early in his premiership Tony Blair pledged to halve child poverty by 2010, and to abolish it by 2020. Martha talks to Lisa Harker about her plans and to Donald Hirsch who has written a report for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
