Respite Care for Families with Disabled Children |

Caring for a disabled child can put huge financial pressures on a family and a couple's relationship. Childcare costs are twice as much and only 16% of mothers with disabled children work. In his March budget, Gordon Brown announced a review of services and support for these children and their families.
As further details of the review are released, Jenni talks to Economic Secretary, Ed Balls about the government's plans to improve respite care. She's also joined by Gail Hanrahan, whose teenage son is severely disabled, to discuss the gap between government policy, and the reality for most families with disabled children.
