Each year thousands of people come to Britain seeking asylum, among them men and women who say they will killed in their home countries because of their sexuality. One of them, Elizabeth is due to be deported on Sunday. Her supporters says more time is needed to compile the details of her case. While there are well documented cases of gay men facing persecution, the situation for lesbians is less clear. Critics of the present asylum system say it's failing women whose cases are being rejected because of old fashioned ideas about lesbians. Others counsel caution, saying there have been cases of women 'faking' their sexuality in order to stay in Britain .
