  Flashpackers - older women go travelling 23 Mar 2006  
Attention has been focussed on grown up gap year travellers since the disturbing disappearance of Jennifer Pope in South America. Three quarters of them are women. They're generally middle aged, usually professional with money in the bank and whose children have flown the nest. But why are so many women deciding to set off to travel the world alone and are they more arrogant of the risks involved than their younger, student counterparts?
