Endometriosis - why the delay in diagnosis? |

After fibroids the most common medical complaint affecting women is endometriosis. It's a chronic disease which often causes excruciating pain during menstruation and is a major cause of infertility. A new survey published today reveals that up to 2 million women in Britain suffer from this illness, but despite being so widespread it takes on average eight years to diagnose the condition.
Jenni talks to Lone Hummelshoj from the National Endometriosis Society, Caroline Flint, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health and Dr Graham Archard, Vice-Chairman of the Royal College of GPs about how to improve diagnosis.
