Alice Walpole is an unlikely diplomat. A single mother of six children, including two sets of twins, she has recently been appointed to the post of HM Consul-General in Basra, Iraq. She joins Jane to talk about life sleeping in a shipping container, wearing full body armour and overseeing the training of local people as police and navy personnel.
