 World tennis star on her life on and off the court
Serena Williams is one of the most successful players in the history of women’s tennis - the current world number one and the top-earning female athlete of all time. She grew up in the tough neighbourhood of Compton in Los Angeles under the training of her father, whose plan to create a tennis champion from amongst his daughters led to both Venus and younger sister Serena dominating women’s tennis. Despite her success - 11 Grand Slam titles - Serena has had to overcome many struggles, including injury, depression and most notably the tragic shooting of her older sister Yetunde. Serena talks to Jenni about the influence of her family, her relationship with tennis, and developing her life off the court.
