Angels 20 July 2009
Angelic encounters

In Christian, Muslim and Jewish religions they are 'messengers from God'. Translated from the Greek word, Angellos, impressions of Angels range from the Archangel Gabriel, celestial beings with feathered wings, to the idea of the ‘Guardian angel’ as a personal guide. They are currently a popular cultural phenomenon, with a proliferation of books, websites and workshops on the subject. Jane is joined by broadcaster Gloria Hunniford, who presents a new TV series on the subject, and Dr. Juliette Wood, Associate Lecturer at the University of Cardiff, specialising in mythology, and a Director of the Folklore Society, to discuss the history of and belief in Angels.

Angels, on Sky Real Lives, from Friday 24th July to 10th September.
