The Medea Myth 25 Jun 2009
Medea by Anthony Sandys
The classical tale of what it means to be a woman.

It has a complicated heroine and a scandalous storyline yet Medea is one of the classical world’s most enduring myths. Despite its complexities, revisions of the myth keep re-emerging both on the stage and on the page. The most recent is Lament for Medea which opens next week at the Arcola theatre in London. Jenni is joined by Professor of Classics and Drama at Holloway, Edith Hall, and the co-director of the Arcola production, PJM to discuss our fascination with this story.
