The changing face of air travel
Former air stewardess Libbie Escolme-Schmidt has helped train a generation of what are now called 'flight attendants' in the rules and etiquette of the job. In her new book, 'Glamour in the Skies', she traces the history of air travel from the 1940s to 1980 through the eyes of the stewardesses. She joins Jane to talk about the romances, exotic stopovers, crazy parties, as well as the discrimination they were subjected to.
'Glamour in the Skies', by Libbie Escolme-Schmidt, is published by The History Press, ISBN-13: 978-0752449043 |
