Education
SATS Row 10 Apr 2009
This weekend the National Union of Teachers will hold their annual conference in Cardiff– high on the agenda is a motion calling for a boycott of tests for 7 and 11 year olds. Tests for 14 years old have already been abolished. The unions also want an end to school league tables So what are the relative merits and de-merits of formal testing? Should parents be able to uses tests to compare schools? And how do tests vary in different parts of the UK? We’ll be talking to two parents with different views.
