Singing the blues
The Philadelphian singer Melody Gardot never wanted to be famous. It was only while recovering from a near-fatal road accident that she picked up a guitar for the first time and started to write what she was feeling. The result was a critically acclaimed album of understated, wistful, poetic songs. Her latest album, ‘My One and Only Thrill’, is a sultry and sophisticated mix of jazz, blues, bossa nova and opulent orchestral arrangements. Melody talks to Jenni about her curious path to musical success.Melody GardotDisclaimer
