Bus Pass Women 26 Dec 2008
Bus stop
The women who travelled the length of Britain with just their bus passes.

Manju Ghosh and Christine Jackson travelled from one end of England to the other using just their bus passes. Their adventure sparked huge media interest – but they were frustrated by the way they were represented. Beyond the fact they were ‘plucky pensioners’ there was little interest in what else they were - Manju is a retired doctor with an OBE and Christine was the Chair of the Civil Liberty Trust.  Manju and Christine join Jenni to talk about the ‘great trek’ and to muse on how older women are sometimes represented in the press.
