Janette Krankie 11th September 2008

Janette Tough has been in show business for over 40 years and for most of that time, she’s played the part of Jimmy Krankie; a cheeky Scottish 10 year old boy. In the early 90s, the powers-that-be in children’s television decided that the The Krankies weren’t very suitable and took them off our screens. But, despite the fact that she’s now collecting her pension, Janette and her husband Ian (the straight man in their enduring double act) are still touring the UK and performing to packed audiences. She joins Sheila McClennon to talk about her long career in variety entertainment and her recent success in TV shows such as French and Saunders and Dinner Ladies.
