The enduring appeal of a 1930s Cinderella

Since its publication in 1938 ‘Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day’ by Winifred Watson has enchanted readers with its story of the dowdy governess who discovers life can be just like the movies when she spends a life-changing 24 hours with a West End starlet, Delysia LaFosse. The film of the book is released on Friday (starring Frances McDormand and Amy Adams) and to discuss it Razia is joined by the writer and publisher, Nicola Beauman, and the author and journalist, Amanda Craig.

'Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day' is on general release on Friday August 15th
