 The world’s first cosmic artist
“It is the business of art to find the patterns in the noise” according to the artist Liliane Lijn. As a famous pioneer of kinetic art, she has experimented with all sorts of different materials and media, to create works which view the world as energy. Her latest exhibition goes one step further, using a very unusual material which NASA scientists use to collect interstellar dust and particles of burnt out stars. Liliane tells Jane how a residency at NASA inspired this work and why she has chosen to exhibit it alongside conical forms she made in the 1960s.
Liliane Lijn’s new exhibition, 'Stardust', is on at Riflemaker Gallery from 22nd April - 5th July 2008Stardust Mission Liliane Lijn at Riflemaker Gallery Liliane Lijn Stardust Project InterviewDisclaimer
