Books
Haifa Zangana 23 Jan 2008
Haifa Zangana
The author talks about the plight of women in Iraq.

In the early seventies Haifa Zangana was imprisoned and tortured under the Ba’ath regime. She formed part of a long-standing tradition of politically and socially active women in Iraq, a tradition she now sees as under threat following the US-led occupation.
She joins Jenni to discuss her new book City of Widows, which puts the plight of Iraqi women into context.

City Of Widows is published by Seven Stories Press. ISBN: 978-1-58322-779-4
