Fighting for human rights in Nepal
One of the world's poorest countries, Nepal is striving to overcome the legacy of a civil war that has left thousands dead. Finding justice for the victims of violence is a priority that Nepalese human rights activist Mandira Sharma is pursuing with a passion. The founder of a group to champion the rights of ordinary Nepalis, her work is being honoured by the Human Rights Watch this week in a ceremony in London. Mandira tells Jane how Nepal’s women have been targeted and about the long but hopeful path to justice. Human Rights Watch Nepal Country ProfileDisclaimer
