Oona King
The former MP talks about her career and life after Parliament

At the age of four Oona King wanted to be the prime minister. She was still only 29 when she became an MP, one of the most high profile of the new women elected to Parliament in Labour’s 1997 landslide victory. A supporter of the controversial Iraq war, she lost her seat to George Galloway two years ago after a highly personal campaign against her. As her diaries are published, Oona King talks to Jenni about the influences which shaped her passion for politics, the ups and downs of her career, the effect being an MP had on her marriage, her struggle with IVF and the joys of being with her adopted son.
