Care home
Dementia care home places – are there enough?

By 2025 over a million people in the UK will have dementia, and a large proportion of them will be elderly. The government has recently announced a national dementia strategy but is it enough?

Ritula speaks to Elizabeth who is trying to get her father, who has Alzheimers, into a care home and asks whether the care home system can cope with the rise in demand. Discussing the issue will be Andrew Chidgey from the Alzheimers Society and Ivan Lewis MP, Minister for Care Services.
