Kate and Helen Ashby and the project for twins at Dartington Summer School.
If you know any sets of identical twins, you may have noticed that not only are they genuinely hard to tell apart, even for those who know them, but they often display similar abilities. A fascinating new project exploring twins and their relationships through the talents of musical twins comes to fruition this week at Dartington International Summer School in Devon.
Composer Orlando Gough has been commissioned to spend a week in the creative atmosphere of this annual festival for music makers, exploiting the talents of six sets of musical twins to create a new work. Called ‘One, Two’, it will be performed in public this Thursday and among those taking part are twenty-six year old twins Kate and Helen Ashby, both sopranos, who specialize in early vocal music. Judi Herman went to meet them as they worked on a piece together.Dartington ‘One Two’ Stile AnticoDisclaimer
