With her self-confessed heritage as ‘half-black, half-Jewish’, growing up surrounded by the glamour of Hollywood, transvestites, drug addicts and the inhabitants of whorehouses, Rain Pryor is something of a paradox. The daughter of the late comedian Richard Pryor is a performer and author in her own right and is about to begin a UK-wide tour with her portrayal of Billie Holliday in a visceral performance of The Billie Holiday Story. Rain joins Ritula to talk about the challenges of playing Lady Day and living in the shadow of her famous father. The Billie Holiday StoryDisclaimer
