Ipswich Prostitute Murders - What lessons have been learnt? 11th April 2007
prostitution
At the end of last year, five prostitutes were murdered in the Ipswich area. Now, Suffolk Police are imposing a tough ‘zero-tolerance’ crack down on kerb-crawling in the town. It’s a controversial initiative, with some fearing that the women may be placed in even greater danger from their clients. Prostitutes are also being offered support and rehabilitation but those refusing help will face banning orders, anti-social behaviour orders and even jail. Jenni talks to Cari Mitchell of the English Collective of Prostitutes and Superintendent Alan Caton of Suffolk Police.
