Dr Noerine Kaleeba 8 Mar 2007
Dr Noerine Kaleeba
When Noerine Kaleeba’s husband was diagnosed with Aids in 1986, she assumed she had also contracted HIV. She decided to live as if she had a limited time to influence the way people with HIV were treated in her home country of Uganda. Out of that determination came the largest Aids charity in Africa – TASO, and her own meteoric rise to the top of Actionaid International.
She joins Jenni to explain why the world needs more African women involved in organisations like this, if we are to manage the global pandemic
