 Why women could swing the US mid-term elections.
American women are preparing to go to the polls for the mid-term elections on November 7th. It’s been claimed that it was their support at the last presidential election which tipped the balance and put George W. Bush into White House. Not suprisingly political analysts have been trying to forecast how women’s allegiances are being affected by the conflict in Iraq, and the health of the economy. Women in Southern states have been recently been reported as turning away from the Republicans.
Cynthia (Cindy) Weber, Professor of Politics and International relations at the University of Lancaster, and Michelle Bernard, director of the Independent Women’s Forum based in Washington D.C. join Jenni to discuss why the female vote is coming under such scrutiny.
