Wendy Cook – on life with comedian Peter Cook 3 October 2006
Peter Cook is undoubtedly one of the great comedy legends of the 20th century. From the pioneering satire of Beyond the Fringe to the success of the Establishment Club and the cutting-edge humour of Not Only But Also, Cook was at the heart of the '60s entertainment scene.

While at Cambridge University, Cook met an art student called Wendy and later they married in a church in New York with Dudley Moore playing the organ. Now, over a decade since his death, Wendy Cook has published a biography of Peter.

Jenni Murray talks to Wendy about Peter’s memorable career, the couple’s extraordinary social life and the difficulties which led to their painful separation.

So Farewell Then by Wendy Cook, published by HarperCollins: ISBN 0 00 722893 7
