Construction and building may be the United Kingdom's biggest industry employing over two and a half million workers - but less than one per cent of them are women working in manual trades.
Last week Education Minister Alan Johnson announced that £20 million will be spent training more women to work in construction leading up to the 2012 Olympics. But can women hack it in the building trade or will their involvement in the games be confined to watching, participating and competing in the stadium rather helping to build it?
