Glass bead artist Liza Lou 11 Mar 2006
Using only her vivid imagination and millions of tiny glass beads, Liza Lou has gained international attention over the past few years for her incredible art installations. Her first big piece was Kitchen - a life-sized pop art-style kitchen complete with running water and dirty dishes. Using tweezers to place each individual bead it took her 5 years to complete.

Her current exhibition is on at the White Cube Gallery in London - and shows a darker side to her work - including a barbed-wire security fence and a death row cell - again all made from beads. So what attracted her to this unusual material?

Liza Lou's exhibition is at the White Cube Gallery in London until April
