Could more be done to help victims of stalking? |

On Saturday the Network for Surviving Stalking is launching an appeal to set up a national helpline for people affected by stalking.
The appeal will kick off with a concert in Bracknell by the Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra. Stalking has been much in the news recently. Last month a coroner ordered further inquiries into the death of a beauty consultant in Harvey Nichols who was shot dead by her ex-boyfriend.
Michael Pech turned the gun on himself after shooting Clare Bernal while she was at work. Pech, who had been stalking Ms Bernal and had threatened to kill her, had been on bail on condition he did not contact her. Also last month, a policeman with Dumfries and Galloway force, Sergeant John Kelly, was charged with attempting to murder his ex-wife, after allegedly stalking her over a period of two-and-a-half years. So is enough being done to support victims of stalking?
Martha Kearney discusses this with Tracey Morgan, chief executive of the Network for Surviving Stalking and a victim herself, and Hamish Brown, a stalking consultant and former policeman specialising in stalking cases.Network for Surviving Stalking Womens Aid RefugeDisclaimer
