**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN to see some more of your cartoon suggestions.

God/Allah, sitting on a cloud with Jesus sat on one knee and Mohammed on the other is looking down at a tug of war between Christian & Muslims. God/Allah say's "Pull yourselves together!"
From: Duncan Cowen

The cartoon would be re-drawn in the Low's style but with Christ and Mohammed in place of Hitler and Stalin, with Christ saying 'The Light of the World, I believe' and Mohammed replying 'The Saviour of Humanity, I presume?' Torn pages representing the Danish cartoons would replace the bodies in Low's original.
Although perhaps not entirely likely to promote religious reconciliation it would, at one level, send such a message, and highlight the potential to criticise all faiths for the violence that has flowed from their message at some point or another. It would also retain the satirical undertone that political cartoons ought to possess and which numerous political cartoonists have stressed as an essential part of their craft, thus satisfying all constituencies, if not any of them perfectly, and annoying enough people to be worthwhile as a political cartoon rather than a piece of touchy-feely schmalz.
From: John Williams

My suggestion for a cartoon is Big fluffy cloud with 2 high back chairs one with Mohammed written on the back and the other with God. Both chairs are facing a large plasma screen and are playing fooball. Floating on the ethereal wall is a picture with 'home sweet home' 'M' has just scored a goal and the score on the screen is 2 to 'M' and 1 to 'G'. Speech bubble from 'M' says 'What a goal!' and speech bubble from 'G'says 'You must be joking he was offide!
In between the 2 chairs is a table with a book titled 'The offside rules' The strap line underneath the cartoon is 'It's a question of interpretation'
That's it in a nut shell. It could be embellished with a copy of William Morris wall paper prints for 'M'to browse at and maybe a Playboy for 'G' but I don't want any repercussions!!
From: Anthony Barton

A Jew and an Arab standing talking together each holding a piece of paper with a cartoon on it the other cant see. one says to the other "Dont show me yours and I wont show you mine".
From: Pam Borck

I have an idea for the Iranian newspaper cartoon competition about the Holocaust. Not being able to draw I will describe instead. A picture of Jews being herded into cattle trucks and one turns to another and says "We'll probably laugh about this one day."
From: Gabrielle Peplow

Cartoon of God sitting at the Head of a Board Meeting with the three monofaith Gods, saying that they must totally revise their current marketing stratergy for neighbourly love because it is having entirely the opposite effect.
From: Paul Carslake

Two chickens watching people dressed up in chicken suits fooling about. One says to the other "Apparently being able to laugh at themselves is what makes them human.'
From: Linda Sargent

My idea for the cartoon for peace.... An old man with long hair and beard (obviously God) is looking sternly down on three embarrassed young boys who look as though they have been caught fighting. The three young boys are caricatures of Jesus, Mohammed and Jacob. God is saying "...and if you boys can't play nicely, you're not getting your ball back !". Under his arm is a football sized ball which, on closer inspection, can be seen to be the earth.
From: David Hepworth

Scenario; nder a lowering sky three juggernauts, one marked by the Star of david, another by a Crucifix and the third by a Crescent, are speeding towards a latter day Sodom and Gomorrah. They look set to miss a small sign indicating Paradise. Through a break in the clouds a voice announces, "Turn at the next junction"
From: Charles Stiles

Here is my idea for a 'cartoon for peace'.  London, 2106.  In the background of the picture, the tops of some of London's most famous landmarks -- St Paul's cathedral, the London Eye, Big Ben -- peek out above a water line.  They are in ruins.  A baking sun is shining in the sky.  In the foreground, there is a rowing boat.  In the boat, there is a rabbi, a sikh, a priest and an imam, all looking worn down and dressed in rags.  The imam is saying: "I wonder what life would have been like in the good old days, back when all anyone had to worry about were a few cartoons?" (I do have sympathy with the muslims who are offended by the cartoons but, in amongst all the stories of melting ice sheets, sea level rises and impending global disaster, I can only think that the human race has more important things to be worrying about.)
From: Chris Carr

“The Last Laugh”
A Jewish extremist has a strangle hold on a radical Muslim, with bullet belts over each shoulder, who is firing his rifle at a Christian fundamentalist, who is throwing a missile, with a crucifix painted on it, at the Jewish extremist.  Each proclaim “My God!”.  Above them looms a black cloud upon which is reflected the smiling face of the Grim Reaper, ready to welcome them all into the dark empty void of death.
From: Philip Cowan

My immediate thought was rather tragic. I see God and Mohammed and Buddha et al sitting around looking rather sad with tears in their eyes, as the Earth has clearly exploded, the caption being "Peace at last"
From: Harriet Bane

My suggestion for a cartoon is of a suicide bomber with doves strapped to his body instead of bombs. I would draw it if I could!!
From: Mike Goolden

Two devils: horned & tailed,
facing opposite directions. One devil is at an easel drawing. The words CARTOON OF THE PROPHET is at the top of his sheet of paper. The other devil is painting a placard with a slogan such as: DEATH TO THE INFIDEL. Underneath or above the devils - one word - TEAMWORK.
From: Bob Strachan

My idea for a cartoon depicts a cartoonist at his desk, drawing a religious subject.  Also in the frame is a large hand holding a pencil, completing the outline of the cartoonist.
From: Roger Kingdon

Two corpses, one christian, one muslim, both raked with bullet wounds/bomb damage. Death standing in the background c/w scythe etc. One speech bubble to both heads - "See, I told you, you were wrong!"
From: Tim Gibbs

The three faces of God - Christian God, Allah and Jehovah (Posibly linked somehow to show they are all supposed be versions of the same thing) all holding puppet strings over their factions below (America/Bush/Christian right; Israel/bulldozers; Mullahs/suicide bombers respectively) all beating the proverbial out of each other. In the background, Satan, with Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses, packed for his holidays, his services obviously no longer required.
From: Bill Eaton

Here's my idea for a (strip) cartoon (it's based on a story about the great Sufi figure of Nasrudin):
Frame 1
First angry mob: "Freedom of speech is sacrosanct!"
Nasrudin: "You are right"
Frame 2
Second angry mob: "You have no warrant to offend us!"
Nasrudin: "You are right"
Frame 3
Angry mob: "But we can't both be right!"
Nasrudin: "You are right"
From:Peter

Drawing of three (wise) monkeys in classic 'see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil' posture.  Except last monkey has pen in hand and underneath cartoon is written 'write / draw no evil'
From: Kevin Ayre

Various deities (Jesus, Buddah, Shiva, Ganesh  wearing explosive vests lined up into the distance waiting for a caricaturist (with sign - caricatures while you wait) The Devil is currently sitting for the artist. Punchline: any publicity is good publicity.
From: Alex Martin

Picture of 2 men standing outside the closed gates of heaven. One a Muslin holding a bomb inscribed 'The West'. The second a Christian holding a gun with a bullet inscribed 'G. Springer' a large figure of God is shown saying to them "Speaking of blastphemy, What makes you think that you are the boss and that I am incapable of meeting out justice?" Inside heaven is a picture of a cartoonist working in heaven as a slave. Below Heaven is a picture of the ruined cities of Sodom & Gamorrah.
From: Barbara Granger

My suggestion for a cartoon to end the dispute is a heavenly being(?angel?)saying to a person outside the area of the picture,  "But Mr Mohammed everyone travelling between paradise and heaven must have their picture on their biometric passport."
From: D. J. Foinette

A (Tom-like) Cat sits in an armchair next to a (Jerry-like) Mouse. The room that they are sitting in looks homely and sub-urban, there is a 'home sweet home' sign on the wall. Tom (the Cat) is holding a paper with a headline which reads "Cartoon Dispute Resolution"
From: John O'Regan

God and the Prophet M are standing on the remains of the earth. G says to M "They were just cartoons!!" or "Are you happy now!"
Psychologist with Prophet (or A Hamza) on couch. P saying to M "When did you first start thinking that people were laughing at you?"
From: Simon Cleal
