"I don't listen to the radio; I like it to filter through my head. I work from home and paint or draw all day. It is a solitary lifestyle in contrast to my childhood spent drawing surrounded by a large verbose family, or at the back of lessons at school. Radio 4 provides the voices that chat to me about what is going on in the world outside my studio (and outside my head) without demanding a response or my constant attention. I love the fact that the radio keeps me company and at the same time leaves me alone."
