"I listen to Radio 4 every day – it goes on as soon as I get out of bed. My studio is in my home now, but when I had one in another area I had to get more batteries once as I’d left my portable radio on previously. I simply couldn't work without Radio 4 – not that I always hear everything, but it’s important to have it in the background. When I’m doing work that doesn’t need complete creative concentration, I can listen properly. There’s no way I could do without the radio!"
