Five teenage boys from the streets of Singapore appear in the film 15, a debut feature by 27 year old Director Royston Tan. Described by Singapore authorities as "a threat to national security", 15 was only granted a release after a record 27 cuts were made, and is still banned in Singapore for it's portrayal of gang fights, drug deals and suicide attempts going on in the shadows of the modern City State.
15 is released in selected cities around the country this Friday, certificate 18
Jiri Belohlavek
Jiri Belohlavek has been Chief Conductor of the Prague Symphony, Music Director of the Czech Philharmonic and worked with orchestras all over the world. Today he is announced as the new chief conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He talks about his plans for the orchestra including the last night of the Proms.
Geishas in the Garden
Geishas in the Garden is the name of the missing Japanese woodblock print stolen from the Courtauld Institute in 1981. Van Gogh included the Japanese print in his Self-Portrait with a Bandaged Ear. The Institute has just relaunched the search for the print and a photograph of the missing work is being displayed beside Van Gogh's self-portrait from 7 February to 7 March.
